The Lincat SLI3W Silverlink 600 Induction Wok Hob is designed specifically for commercial wok cooking, combining the intense, responsive heat required for stir-frying with the excellent energy efficiency of induction technology. Its specially shaped cooking area is designed for a 13" (330mm) round-bottom wok, concentrating the heat directly where it is needed.

Induction provides a particularly efficient alternative to traditional gas wok cooking. Lincat states that its induction technology typically achieves around 90% efficiency, compared with approximately 55% for a solid electric hotplate and 50% for gas. Because heat is generated directly in the cookware, less energy is wasted heating the hob and surrounding kitchen. This can also help reduce ventilation and air-conditioning requirements, contributing towards lower energy consumption and a cooler working environment.

Despite its relatively modest electrical requirement, Lincat states that the SLI3W can deliver almost twice the cooking power of a similarly rated gas hob, while a boost function provides additional power when it is needed most. Automatic pan detection cuts the power when the wok is removed, helping reduce unnecessary energy use and running costs.

The SLI3W is straightforward to operate using a rotary control with LED power-level display.
